About

A bit about the musical side of myself …

Me and my Jetglo Rickenbacker 620/6

I am a software engineer by day, and an amateur musician by night (and weekend). As a result of a very serendipitous friendship, I started playing guitar and bass and piano in high school, learning to read a little music, but basically just listening to Beatles records and figuring out the chords I heard. This led to an interest in songwriting and recording.

I played in several bands in my younger days, even fronted a couple, and during that period I always had a home studio of some sort which I would use to record my own material, record my own versions of popular songs, and even record demos for other bands.

Having stepped away from playing, writing, and recording music for many years, I got back into it during the summer of 2020, and by the end of that year I had assembled a small home studio. I wanted to more easily share the music I created with friends and family, so I set up this site. Most of what comes out of my studio I post on my Media page and write about in the blog.

Other things that I enjoy or that otherwise occupy my time: Running, solving the Friday-Sunday New York Times crossword, creating and drinking interesting cocktails, following UConn men’s basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball teams, and playing Words With Friends.
